7 Natural Ways to Improve Your Wellbeing
By Mindbody Specialist, Kathy Popplewell

1. Chew, chew, chew your food!

The simple task of chewing your food more will not only aid digestion, but help you loose weight as you will feel full sooner and increase absorbtion of all the nurtrients you are eating thus allowing your body to utilise energy more efficently!

2. Smile for a while.

When we smile a physiological change happens in the body that natually makes us feel more positive and optimistic. When we are amongst others smiling makes us appear more approachable & attractive.

3. Start hugging!

Give and receive as many heart warming hugs as you can! Dr Clifford Oliver says that you need 3 hugs a day for survival, 6 hugs a day for maintenence and 9 hugs a day for growth.

4. Reduce your caffine, sugar and alcohol.

Caffine, sugar and alchol are all liver loaders which can place alot of stress on not only the vital functions of the liver but can greatly reduce our immune system function. You don't have to give them up completley but remember moderation is the key, by reducing your consumption of these items can greatly improve your overall wellbeing.

5. Move, move, move your body.

The body is made to move and the old saying of 'move it or loose it' still rings true. Find as many ways to move your body as possible.

6. Make good quality rest a priority.

It is only during good quality rest time that the body can begin to repair itself and regenerate. Good quality rest does not include being a couch potato and watching tv, as this is a very stimulating activity for the nervous system which is most likely already in overload. Try things like relaxation, breathing exercises, massage, spending time in nature and getting to bed early.

7. Do things that make you laugh!

Laughter is truly an amazing natural way to boost your wellbeing, reduce stress and make you feel great.
